The Department of Radiology at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine seek a clinical/academic Pediatric Interventional Radiologist. Join a highly specialized academic Pediatric Radiology group. This position offers a collegial, private practice style work environment with autonomous management of pediatric imaging and procedures.

The role entails approximately 70% interventional radiology and 30% diagnostic radiology. Practice within all aspects of pediatric imaging. This is an on-site opportunity in the heart of Kansas City, a metro with cultural experiences and vibrant communities.

Our rapidly growing Radiology Department comprises 27 radiologists with subspecialty expertise in all areas of pediatric imaging, including 4 who practice interventional radiology. Teaching duties include radiology residents from multiple residency programs. Research opportunities are available and encouraged but not required. Academic appointments will be through the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine.

Requirements

  • CAQ-certified or CAQ-eligible in Pediatric Radiology
  • CAQ-certified or CAQ-eligible in Interventional Radiology
  • Extensive experience with image-guided procedures in pediatrics
  • Ability to practice in collegial academic environment
  • Full-time or part-time availability
  • Willingness to receive seasonal influenza vaccine as condition of employment
  • Non-immune candidates willing to vaccinate for MMR, varicella, Tdap

Responsibilities

  • Practice interventional radiology procedures (approximately 70% of time)
  • Conduct diagnostic radiology across all aspects of pediatric imaging (30% of time)
  • Autonomously manage pediatric imaging and procedures
  • Teach radiology residents from multiple residency programs
  • Engage in research opportunities as available
  • Participate in image-guided procedures in pediatrics
  • Collaborate with interventional radiology fellows from University of Kansas
