Daily work acquires tomographic images of designated body portions while preparing and positioning patients with accurate technical parameters. Patient pre-screening, scheduling, education, and contrast injections occur under radiologist supervision with strict MRI safety compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
  • Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of maturity and exercise individual judgment in MRI exams.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications including email.
  • Skills in technical data interpretation.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.
  • RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT within 1 Year or ARMRIT within 1 Year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Acquire or produce tomographic images of designated portions of the human body using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS including image quality and patient data.
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Perform contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician.
  • Fulfill on-call requirements as needed by the department.
