About this role
As an MRI Technologist at Rochester Regional Health Radiology, your empathy with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality enhance MRI imaging success for diagnostic patient care. You perform technical skills operating a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images. Maximum comfort and safety are provided to patients during procedures.
Day-to-day involves executing routine and advanced MRI procedures while monitoring patient safety under general supervision. Maintain accountability for timely patient service in the MRI area, educating them on procedures. Foster a safe, comfortable, supportive environment throughout exams.
In the Imaging Department at Rochester General Hospital, you transfer imaging data for archiving and post-processing. Proper documentation of exams and procedures is ensured. Contribute to overall diagnostic imaging in a patient-centered radiology team.
Growth opportunities include a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and weekend incentives. Obtain required certifications like ARRT-R, NYS Injection, and BLS within six months. Build proficiency in MRI-specific skills in a structured hospital environment.
Requirements
- A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program
- NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) required within 6 months of employment
- NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment
- BLS Certification within 6 months of employment
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of routine and advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures while monitoring and maintaining essential patient safety under general supervision
- Maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients throughout the MRI area
- Educate patients regarding their procedure
- Maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam
- Transfer imaging data for archiving and post-data processing
- Maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures
- Operate MRI Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes
- Screen patients for contraindications and ensure positioning for optimal imaging
