Ensure patients feel comfortable, safe and properly informed throughout the MRI process. Acquire and review patient questionnaires, charts and data to determine contraindications for MRI examinations. Operate scanners to capture detailed diagnostic images while maintaining equipment accessibility.

This regular PRN position involves variable shifts from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., including weekends. Work in the MRI department at Medina Hospital with a supportive team committed to excellence. Facilitate a welcoming experience using the latest technologies every day.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
  • American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within one year of hire/transfer

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination
  • Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams
  • Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam
  • Operate MRI scanners to capture detailed images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes
  • Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions
  • Maintain available equipment of the highest level for patient accessibility
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students
