About this role

Works closely with Radiologist, Executive Director, and section supervisors to perform procedures and coordinate patient care under the direction of the radiologist. Technologist coordinator assists the radiologist with patient consultation and follow-up care following radiology procedures. Coordinates interventional radiology workflows in a hospital setting.

Updates radiology tracking mechanisms such as Aspen Lung and MRS to manage patient progress. Navigates patients through the care process for further imaging and physician consultation. Handles day-to-day tasks on a 36-hour full-time day shift from 7:00am-5:30pm with rotating weekends.

Collaborates with healthcare team in a dynamic environment requiring precise patient positioning and radiation safety knowledge. Applies technical factors like kVp and mAs for optimal imaging. Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations on contrast media and medication.

Maintains ARRT registration, Illinois license, and CPR certification through ongoing education. Develops adaptability to changing work demands and irregular schedules. Enhances communication and cooperation skills in patient-centered radiology care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Technology
  • ARRT registration
  • Illinois State license
  • CPR certified
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of technical factors utilizing kVp and mAs per anatomical exposure
  • Knowledge of patient positioning techniques required to image human anatomy
  • Knowledge of radiation protection and safety
