White Oak Medical Center seeks an experienced Cath Lab/IR Technologist for the Cardiovascular department. Embrace the mission to extend God’s care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Assist Interventional Physicians in all CVIR procedures utilizing various interventional tools. Demonstrate proficiency in operating X-Ray and interventional equipment. Maintain working knowledge of contrast administration, contraindications, and plans for adverse reactions.

Provide care appropriate to the age of the patient while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Follow hospital policy, sterile technique, and radiation safety established by RSO. Communicate effectively with patients, families, other staff, and physicians in a multi-task environment.

Contribute to department time management by being punctual and flexible for on-call services and emergency cases. Participate in new product evaluations, learn new procedures, and share knowledge with peers. Demonstrate initiative toward safety, risk management, and strong clinical judgment.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited School of Radiography or completion of an accredited cardiovascular program
  • 2 years of diagnostic imaging
  • Current ARRT Certification or RCIS Certification
  • Current Maryland Board of Physicians Licensed Radiographer or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers, physicians, and support staff to deliver quality patient care and customer service
  • Assist Interventional Physicians in all CVIR procedures utilizing various interventional tools
  • Administer contrast with knowledge of contraindications and plans for adverse reactions
  • Provide care appropriate to the age of the patient
  • Maintain sterile field and sterile technique
  • Operate X-Ray, interventional equipment, and other procedural tools proficiently
  • Follow radiation safety as established by RSO and hospital policy for a safe environment
  • Maintain flexible schedule for on-call services and emergency cases
