About this role

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking additional Interventional Radiologists to join a growing and highly specialized practice. The Interventional Radiology Division supports a destination medical center, delivering high-level care with strong focus on interventional oncology and transplantation. It performs more than 8,000 minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures annually.

A well-established outpatient clinic supports thriving consultation practice and IR subspecialization. The interventional oncology program engages in multidisciplinary tumor boards and offers comprehensive transarterial and ablative therapies. Candidates with expertise in secondary liver malignancies especially mCRC, lung ablation, or lymphatic disease management are particularly interested.

The inpatient IR service transitions to primary consult model with support from residents and advanced practice providers. Interventional radiologists cover inpatient consults rotationally, integrated with primary call responsibilities. They handle primary interpretation of diagnostic vascular imaging including CT and MR angiography.

Supported by 10 board-certified interventional radiologists and 10 experienced advanced practice providers in state-of-the-art facility with four interventional suites and one hybrid room. Planned addition of two new procedure rooms in 2027 expands services. Faculty engage in teaching and research for integrated IR residency, independent pathway, and ESIR.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology for Interventional Radiology IR/DR certificate
  • Subspecialty expertise or interest in treatment of secondary liver malignancies especially metastatic colorectal cancer
  • Subspecialty expertise or interest in lung ablation
  • Subspecialty expertise or interest in lymphatic disease management
  • Experience supporting interventional oncology and transplantation services
  • Ability to participate in primary consult model for inpatient IR service
  • Proficiency in diagnostic vascular imaging interpretation
  • Commitment to teaching and research in radiology programs

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-level care focused on interventional oncology and transplantation
  • Perform minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards for interventional oncology
  • Provide transarterial and ablative therapies for secondary liver malignancies, lung ablation, and lymphatic disease
  • Cover inpatient consults on rotational basis with primary call responsibilities
  • Interpret primary diagnostic vascular imaging including CT and MR angiography
  • Engage in teaching within integrated IR residency, independent IR residency, and ESIR pathways
  • Conduct research in interventional and diagnostic radiology training programs
