About this role
The Adult CT Technologist performs routine computed tomography examinations in accordance with established protocols, policies, and safety standards. Positions are available in levels 1-3 based on experience, education, and certification.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician-ordered exams. Safely administers contrast per protocol while recognizing basic imaging artifacts and implementing corrective measures.
Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and the care team. Accurately transfers images and associated data to designated systems while completing technical documentation in EMR/PACS.
Carries out operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance. Actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program or JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
- ARRT(RT) certification required within 12 months of hire for Level 1
- ARRT(RT)(CT) certification required upon hire for Level 2 and Level 3
- Associate's Degree required for Level 2 and Level 3
- 0-3 years of experience for Level 1; 3-5 years of CT experience for Level 2; 5 or more years for Level 3
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care under routine or emergent conditions
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician-ordered exams
- Safely administer contrast per protocol
- Recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance
- Transfer images and associated data to designated systems and complete technical documentation
- Perform operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfection, and equipment maintenance
- Document accurately in EMR/PACS and support inventory tasks as needed
