Requirements
- Understand written and verbal instructions
- Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment functions
- Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology
- Licensed in New York State for Radiologic Technology including permit for injections
- Registered or eligible by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Advanced ARRT certification preferred
- Maintain ARRT registration including CE credits
- Proficient in MediTech (RIS)
Responsibilities
- Select proper technical factors for examinations
- Access IV sites and administer contrast media
- Perform medication management including storage, rotation, and temperature requirements
- Prepare oral contrast
- Utilize PACS for completing, sending images, and scanning documents
- Reconstruct and post-process images according to protocols
- Dispose of biomedical waste using CDC and OSHA guidelines
- Follow Federal, State, and hospital health safety codes especially regarding radiation, electrical, and mechanical safety
