About this role
Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles. Plays a vital role in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care to patients. Supports physicians with high-quality diagnostic imaging that informs clinical decisions impacting lives every day.
Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions. Assesses patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs, provides instructions for cooperation, and performs proper patient identification and clinical history documentation. Positions patient, equipment, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images.
Works in Bayfront Health Free-Standing Emergency Department at Crossroads with varying shifts in a pool PRN position. Applies radiation safety principles, standard precautions, and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination. Utilizes Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and ensures safety of all customers.
Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration, venipuncture, and emergency response to adverse reactions. Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists. Complies with Quality Control standards, state and federal regulations, and Orlando Health policies.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology or approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Maintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R)
- ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
- Proficiency in venipuncture and contrast administration
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles and Quality Control standards

- Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs
- Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation
- Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others
- Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors
- Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for contrast administration
- Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists
