About this role
Perform CT Scan studies of anatomical areas as ordered, according to established standards and procedures. Provide leadership in the absence of a supervisor. Ensure studies meet diagnostic quality using technical judgment based on protocols and patient needs.
Assist, prepare, and position patients for imaging procedures. Operate all radiographic imaging equipment associated with CT, including injectors. Load and program contrast media power injectors per departmental procedures and coordinate scan protocols with radiologist.
Provide leadership and direction to support personnel, delegate responsibilities, and assist in staff orientation. Assign break and mealtime coverage in supervisor's absence. Assist physician with room setup, procedures, sterile preparations, and biopsies.
Minimize radiation exposure by practicing protection techniques and perform all quality assurance procedures. Maintain radiology room cleanliness, supplies, and accurate patient tracking in IDX system. Adhere to infection control policies and attend professional development meetings.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology
- 5+ years of progressive CT experience
- Excellent technical skills, knowledge of cross sectional anatomy, physiology and positioning
- New York State License (L.R.T.)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Responsibilities
- Performs CT Scans and other Diagnostic exams

- Applies necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols
- Provides leadership and direction to support personnel in the absence of a supervisor
- Delegates responsibility to staff as appropriate and assists in orientation of Staff Technologists

- Loads and programs contrast media power injectors according to established departmental procedures
- Coordinates scan protocols with radiologist and minimizes radiation to patient and staff
