About this role

Regional PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way.

They show technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images and studies possible.

Because these technologists work in a variety of environments including freestanding outpatient centers, mobile coaches, and hospital-based inpatient facilities, flexibility allows them to deliver the best imaging care at any access point.

They maintain responsibility for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and radiation safety regulations with proper documentation when working with radioactive materials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N)
  • State license as required
  • CPR certification
  • Valid state driver’s license as applicable
  • Ability to work at several locations
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and radiation safety/regulations with proper documentation when working with radioactive materials
  • Produce high quality diagnostic images
  • Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists
  • Train new technologists and/or PCs
  • Trouble-shoot the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment including monitors, PACS, and coils
