About this role

Responsible for the operation of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner for providers. Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care. This part-time role is Saturday and Sunday, 20 hours per week.

Performs MRI imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with standards of practice and protocols of the site Radiologist. Maintains patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the MRI and during the exam. Administers contrast agents under guidance and approval of site Radiologist according to site-specific protocols.

Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures. Performs equipment quality checks, troubleshoots problems, and maintains a clean environment inside and outside the MRI unit. Provides images to the facility in the desired format and completes administrative tasks like time reports and billing.

Works in an imaging office environment, sitting six to eight hours per day with some stooping and bending. Requires ability to move equipment, transfer patients, and lift 60 pounds. Complies with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards while functioning effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered with the ARRT and certified in MRI
  • KY state license required
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Knowledge of current medical terminology and anatomy
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints

Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the MRI and during the exam
  • Administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols under guidance of site Radiologist
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems
  • Provide images to the facility in the desired format
  • Maintain a clean environment inside and outside of the MRI unit
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks including time reports, billing, and QA
  • Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards and regulations
