About this role

Assists the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures by scrubbing and managing the sterile field and by monitoring and reporting hemodynamic data. This Cath Lab Technician PRN role supports a fast-paced cardiac catheterization lab, working closely with cardiologists to ensure safe and effective procedures.

On a typical day, the technician prepares the patient and equipment, sets up the sterile field, and assists with catheter insertion and contrast injections. They continuously monitor patient hemodynamics and report any changes to the physician, with accurate documentation of procedure details also being essential.

The role operates within a collaborative team of nurses, technologists, and physicians in a dedicated cath lab suite. The environment requires quick thinking and attention to detail during both diagnostic and interventional cases, and as a PRN staff member, you provide coverage as needed to support fluctuating patient volumes.

This PRN position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized setting with advanced imaging technology. It provides exposure to complex cardiac cases and ongoing skill development in interventional cardiology, with flexible scheduling allowing you to balance work with other commitments while staying current in the field.

Requirements

  • Current BCLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification (recommended)
  • Completion of an EKG course
  • 1 year of Cath Lab experience
  • Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics
  • Ability to open, read, and respond to email; manage electronic files; and print electronic documents and reports
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively
