About this role
In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding nursing position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) role is to assist the Nurse Manager in achieving an environment of excellence in clinical quality, safety, and service.
You will function as a staff nurse and/or relief charge nurse as needed on your assigned unit, assuming a nursing leadership role as delegated by the Nurse Manager. Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching and mentoring staff, providing real-time feedback and counseling, and coordinating unit-based education related to nursing quality care.
You will work closely with the Nurse Manager to coordinate hiring, training, evaluation, and discharge of assigned unit staff, as well as participate in planning and implementing the unit budget. The role also involves facilitating patient experience initiatives and assuming responsibility for clinical quality through routine surveillance of regulatory compliance and documentation.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
- 3 years of nursing experience required
- Current CPR certification required
- Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas
- National certification in specialty area or will obtain within one year or minimal amount of time that requirements can be met
- Coaching/mentoring skills and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking abilities
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nurse Manager in achieving an environment of excellence in clinical quality, safety, and service
- Function as a staff nurse and/or relief charge nurse as needed on assigned unit
- Coordinate hiring, training, evaluation/counseling, and discharge of assigned unit staff in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the unit budget
- Facilitate coordination of unit-based strategies for Patient Experience initiatives
- Assume responsibility and accountability for clinical quality through routine surveillance of regulatory compliance, documentation, and clinical aspects review
- Coordinate and facilitate unit-based education related to nursing quality care, including Core Measures and Hospital Acquired Conditions
- Provide day-to-day coaching and mentoring of staff, serving as a role model with real-time feedback and counseling
