About this role

Sonoma Valley Hospital is seeking a skilled X-Ray/CT Technologist to perform all radiologic examinations, including x-ray and computed tomography, while obtaining complete, high quality diagnostic images for Radiologists. This 32-hour per week role is essential to delivering safe, effective imaging services in a community hospital setting.

In this role, you will administer contrast as prescribed, assist physicians during procedures while adhering to sterile technique guidelines, and obtain pertinent patient history to ensure accurate physician orders. You will also monitor and maintain patient safety during all procedures, applying safety principles as defined by established policy, and provide safe patient transport and handling.

You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, maintaining order and cleanliness of rooms and equipment per infection control guidelines. The role also involves performing routine quality control on x-ray and CT equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and submitting work order tickets for repairs as needed.

This position offers the opportunity to grow your skills in both x-ray and CT modalities, with the expectation to perform all CT procedures independently within six months of hire. You will also assist with reception duties and clerical responsibilities, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • 1-2 years previous experience performing radiography, with the ability to perform all CT procedures independently within 6 months of hire
  • Current California CRT and ARRT Certification (R)
  • California Fluoroscopy certificate within 6 months of employment
  • Current BLS certification and venipuncture certificate or equivalent (may obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Ability to perform diagnostic imaging that adheres to department and hospital protocol, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (bilingual a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Perform all radiologic (x-ray and CT) techniques and examinations to obtain complete, high quality diagnostic images for Radiologists

  • Obtain pertinent patient history and record relevant information
  • Monitor and maintain essential patient care and safety during procedures, applying safety principles per established policy
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of rooms and equipment per infection control guidelines
  • Perform routine quality control on x-ray and CT equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and submit work order tickets for repairs
  • Assist in other areas, such as reception duties and clerical responsibilities, and ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and risk management standards
