A Senior Cardiac Sonographer is a healthcare professional specially trained to use imaging technology for diagnosing heart problems in patients.

Oversee the performance of echocardiogram tests to obtain crucial data about patients and analyze blood flow, valve function, and chamber size to determine overall heart condition. Assist physicians in diagnosing patients with heart conditions and accurately record patient data and test results. Operate ultrasound equipment to capture moving 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and its chambers.

Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and cleaning equipment in a high-performing team environment. Work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with free parking available in Waltham. Demonstrate flexibility performing tests in a variety of clinical environments while educating patients and families on procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Sonography required
  • Two (2) years of cardiovascular imaging experience; 2-3 years required
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer [RDCS] - ARDMS preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and disease
  • Ability to operate ultrasound equipment utilizing M-mode, two-dimensional, pulsed and continuous wave Doppler flow mapping
  • Ability to perform examinations recognizing structures, differentiating artifacts, and utilizing anatomy knowledge
  • Ability to perform echo and vascular sonography studies including complex studies
  • Ability to educate patients and families on procedures and make knowledgeable clinical assessments
