Cardiac Sonographer I - ART Echo

1w

Medical University of South Carolina

US · Full-time · $60,000 – $80,000

About this role

A sonographer uses ultrasound high-frequency sound waves to take images of the body's internal organs and tissues. This assists doctors with diagnosing and monitoring a variety of conditions and diseases, particularly focusing on cardiac structures in the adult echo department. A sonographer is also known as a diagnostic medical sonographer or an ultrasound technician.

Daily tasks involve operating ultrasound equipment to capture detailed heart images for adult patients. Sonographers prepare patients, position them appropriately, and ensure high-quality echocardiograms. These images support precise cardiac assessments in a busy hospital environment.

Work occurs within Medical University Hospital Authority as a regular employee in the CHS - ECHO - Adult (ART) cost center. Scheduled for 40 weekly hours on an hourly pay grade Health-28 basis. The role demands continuous mobility in an indoor clinical setting.

Entry-level position offers hands-on experience with 0-2 years required. Certification maintenance and physical demands prepare sonographers for ongoing cardiac imaging contributions. Advancement aligns with ARDMS standards and BLS proficiency.
