Day-to-day responsibilities include scanning patients safely and efficiently, performing all filming, archiving, and PACS network data management for each patient scanned, and retrieving old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking. The technologist also completes all associated paper and computer work, discharges patients with appropriate post-MRI instructions, and communicates pertinent patient information to necessary staff.
New technologists receive training and direct supervision or guidance from more senior colleagues, including orientation to the department's infrastructure, policies, protocols, workflows, procedures, and routines. Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to apply learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
- Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them for timely interpretation.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by adhering to MRI safety policies specific to MRI Zones.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.

Benefits
