About this role

This role competently performs routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injury or disease. Working independently with sound judgment and developed clinical skills, you will execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.

Day-to-day responsibilities include patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication to gain confidence from patients, their families, and healthcare providers. You will adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

As part of the Sutter Davis Hospital team, you will collaborate with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives. You may also help orient other staff to the department and perform specific procedures as needed, fostering a supportive and skilled imaging environment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Radiologic Technologist Program or a Magnetic Resonance Program prior to start date.
  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist, ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist, or ARRT (MRI) certification prior to start date.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Capable of performing routine MRI examinations with a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures.
  • General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related information systems (RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, PACS).

  • Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
  • Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
  • May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or helping orient other staff to the department.
  • Prioritizes assignments and works within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and resolves standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensures the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
