About this role

As a CT Technologist at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, you produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing advanced training and knowledge, you accurately interpret scanning instructions and administer contrast materials. This role is critical in the overall treatment of patients.

You prepare and operate equipment while positioning patients to capture appropriate images during diagnostic imaging. Involvement includes patients in both the Emergency Room and those staying in the hospital. You set the tone for patients regarding delivered news.

Requirements

  • Certification in computed tomography procedures
  • Knowledge of ionizing radiation safety protocols
  • Proficiency in administering contrast materials
  • Ability to perform emergent and invasive CT procedures
  • Understanding of A.L.A.R.A. standards
  • Skill in documenting imaging data and networking informatics

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation to detect pathology.
  • Perform routine, emergent, invasive and special procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely and maintain A.L.A.R.A. standards while performing procedures.
  • Coordinate and answer questions regarding scheduling, patient information, networking and informatics.
  • Document in charts and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation.
  • Provide copies of imaging studies.
  • Abide by all regulations that apply to state and national standards.
