About this role
Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. These services aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects and/or diseases in adult and/or pediatric patient populations.
Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills and available resources, provides safe, high quality, efficient and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians to be performed in breast health settings.
Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to identify and implement actions for clinical outcomes. Utilizes highly specialized ultrasound equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
Conducts post-procedure review to confirm completion, documentation and technical quality consistent with protocols. Transfers images and data to archival systems, performs quality control checks, cleaning and disinfecting per guidelines. Participates in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher from a CAAHEP accredited educational program in cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty
- 0-3 years experience
- BLS current upon hire
- Medical ARDMS required upon hire or advancement
- Knowledge of principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging and medical terminology
- Skill in positioning of patients and medical ethics
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Ability to consistently and dependably report to work as scheduled and be sensitive to patients’ needs
Responsibilities

- Perform operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting and user maintenance
- Participate in continuing education, professional development and research activities to maintain competencies
