About this role

The University of Chicago's Department of Radiology is searching for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank to join our growing section of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Responsibilities will include the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures with strong oncologic, hepatobiliary, transplant, trauma, vascular including CTA imaging, dialysis, non-vascular, portal venous, women’s, and pediatric interventional radiology services.

Other duties will include training and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, and scholarly activity. The appointee will join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners at UChicago Medicine, the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, and its affiliates.

The appointee will also participate in a variety of interdisciplinary conferences and build collaborative relationships across campus and with community partners. The Department of Radiology includes more than 80 full-time faculty members, clinical associates, and postdoctoral researchers, and our faculty conduct cutting-edge translational and clinical research.

The medical center complex is located on the main campus of the University of Chicago, south of downtown along the shore of Lake Michigan, with remote days included weekly.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • Board certified or eligible with the American Board of Radiology.
  • Active medical license in the state of Illinois.
  • Completion of a vascular/interventional radiology fellowship or IR/DR residency.
  • Eligibility for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures including oncologic, hepatobiliary, transplant, trauma, vascular (including CTA imaging), dialysis, non-vascular, portal venous, women’s, and pediatric interventional radiology services.
  • Train and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and academic research.
  • Participate in a variety of interdisciplinary conferences.
  • Build collaborative relationships across campus and with community partners.
  • Contribute to the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Department of Radiology.
