About this role

This role coordinates total nursing care for patients in the Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology Lab, following established processes and procedures. The RN participates in patient care, provides education to patients and families, and works cooperatively with other healthcare providers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions and nursing needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and revising them as conditions change. The nurse admits, recovers, and discharges patients, assists physicians with procedures and exams, transcribes orders accurately, and administers medications including IVs per hospital policy.

The position also involves assisting with inventory management, obtaining supplies for individual cases, and maintaining equipment in a clean and safe manner. The RN provides instruction to staff, patients, and families, resolves patient care problems, and interacts with patients, families, surgical staff, and other team members.

This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in cardiac and interventional radiology procedures within a supportive hospital environment. The RN will respond to emergency situations, lift and transport patients, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout their care.

Requirements

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited School of Nursing
Current State Nursing License
ACLS, PALS, and BLS required
CCRN/RCIS preferred
Ability to perform and/or assist with all cardiac procedures
Ability to lift and transport patients and provide proper positioning
Strength: Medium Work - Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-25 lbs frequently, or up to 10 lbs constantly

Responsibilities

Coordinate total nursing care for patients and follow Cath Lab processes and procedures
Assess patient condition and nursing needs, then develop and implement individual plan of care with revisions as needed
Admit, recover, and discharge patients from the Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology Lab
Assist physicians with patient procedures and exams
Transcribe physician orders accurately and legibly
Administer medications, including IVs, according to hospital policy and procedure
Assist with inventory, obtain supplies for individual cases, and maintain equipment in a clean and safe manner
Respond to emergency situations and provide treatment while maintaining patient comfort and safety
