Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

This role coordinates total nursing care for patients in the Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology Lab, following established processes and procedures. The nurse participates in patient care, provides teaching to patients and families, and works cooperatively with other health care providers to achieve appropriate outcomes.

Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions and nursing needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and revising them as conditions change. The nurse admits, recovers, and discharges patients, assists physicians with procedures and exams, transcribes orders accurately, and administers medications including IVs per hospital policy.

The position also involves assisting with inventory management, obtaining supplies for individual cases, and maintaining equipment in a clean and safe manner. The nurse demonstrates cost-conscious use of supplies, maintains change sheets for all procedures, and provides instruction to staff, patients, and families.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a specialized cardiac and interventional radiology environment, with on-the-job training available for candidates without previous experience. The nurse will develop expertise in a wide range of cardiac procedures while responding to emergency situations and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
