Perform abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, vascular imaging and provide sonography guidance for interventional procedures.

Complete procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines using independent judgment. Demonstrate thorough understanding of equipment and positioning to provide optimum service to patients and providers. Identify patients with two identifiers, document accurately, and maintain a safe environment.

Perform procedures with high accuracy, maintaining knowledge of diagnostic equipment and gathering relevant information for image interpretation. Verify images transfer to the imaging storage and retrieval system. Provide accurate clerical functions using Excellian electronic medical record and ensure complete post-procedure documentation.

Communicate with supervisor and team, reporting problems, issues or ideas while providing assistance to others. Work 1.0 FTE with 8-hour day/evening/night shifts and on-call weekends in a union-represented environment. Uphold standards in accordance with department policies and the American College of Radiology.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Vocational degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound
  • Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology and 2 year School of Diagnostic Ultrasound
  • Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARDMS registered or registry eligible
  • 0 to 2 years Diagnostic Sonography experience
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required upon hire in Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), OB/GYN, or other specified areas
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required upon hire for AHG Clinic Locations and St. Francis or within 6 months for hospital locations
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house training

Responsibilities

  • Identify patient using two identifiers and document accurately
  • Observe and communicate with patient while maintaining safe environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic equipment and maintain competence
  • Gather relevant information to assist in image interpretation and verify image transfer
  • Use Excellian electronic medical record and ensure complete documentation
