About this role

This Senior PET CT Technologist position is located at Cancer Care of North Florida-Radiation Oncology in Lake City, FL. The role is critical to the overall performance and efficiency of the center, interacting with all facets of the company, its patients, team members, and physician offices.

Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting patients and families, escorting them throughout the facility, injecting radiopharmaceuticals, and scanning patients with diagnostic imaging equipment. The technologist verifies the completeness and integrity of scan orders, processes images, and pushes them to PACS, while also archiving to DVD daily.

This role works closely with patients, physicians, nurses, clinicians, educators, and vendors to ensure seamless operations. The technologist also develops marketing strategies with Clinical Educators and implements procedures that improve efficiencies and reduce costs.

This position offers the opportunity to obtain working knowledge of PET/CT imaging and educate physicians on the technology. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for this role, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of nuclear medicine technology experience, preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT)
  • Must possess either the ARRT (N) or the NMTCB certification
  • CT Imaging certification, preferred
  • Current ACLS or BCLS certification, preferred
  • PET experience, preferred
  • Experience with GE PET/CT camera, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and families and escort the patient throughout the facility
  • Inject radiopharmaceuticals and scan patients with diagnostic imaging equipment
  • Verify completeness and integrity of scan orders from physician offices at least 48 hours in advance
  • Process images and push to PACS; archive and verify to PACS and to DVD daily
  • Order radiopharmaceuticals and credit unused radiopharmaceuticals daily
  • Run QC scanning equipment and facilitate repairs if necessary; perform QA on all equipment and maintain logs
  • Schedule patients, confirm appointments, and give preparation instructions
  • Develop marketing strategy with Clinical Educators and work with patients, physicians, nurses, clinicians, educators, and vendors
