About this role
GD Resources seeks Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists to deliver high-quality care to the nation's Veterans. This role entails performing complex interventional procedures, interpreting diagnostic exams, and offering clinical consultation in an ACR-accredited facility. Candidates will also serve as attending physicians, supervising and mentoring medical residents and fellows.
Daily duties include executing a full spectrum of IR interventions such as Angiography, Y90 Radioembolization, TIPS placement, Kyphoplasty, Thrombolysis, and various biopsies or drainages. Professionals interpret Interventional and Computed Tomography Angiography exams to support patient care. They provide expert advice to referring clinicians on procedure indications and manage post-procedure follow-up.
On-call responsibilities require availability within 15 minutes by phone for consultations and on-site reporting within 60 minutes for emergent procedures. All emergent exams must be verified and read within one hour of completion. Approximately 95% of time focuses on direct patient care and related clinical duties.
The role involves acting as the attending physician for residents and fellows, ensuring educational and clinical safety standards are met. Work occurs in a VA facility with at least 8 weeks' notice for regular scheduling. Candidates must reside nearby to meet rapid response times.
Requirements
- Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology or Interventional Radiology
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Angiography/Interventional Radiology
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications
- Ability to provide case logs illustrating recent and relevant proficiency in the procedures performed
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Reside within a distance that allows for a 60-minute on-site response time
Responsibilities
- Perform a full spectrum of IR interventions including Angiography, Y90 Radioembolization, TIPS placement, Kyphoplasty, Thrombolysis, and various biopsies/drainages
- Interpret Interventional and Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) exams as required for patient care
- Be available within 15 minutes by phone for clinical consultations
- Report on-site within 60 minutes for emergent procedures during off-hours
- Verify and read all emergent exams within one hour of completion
- Act as the attending physician for residents and fellows, ensuring educational and clinical safety standards
- Provide expert advice to referring clinicians regarding appropriate indications for interventional procedures
- Manage necessary post-procedure follow-up
