About this role

We are seeking a skilled and DHA-licensed LOCUM Sonographer to join our growing clinical team in Dubai. You will perform high-quality ultrasound imaging and related diagnostic assessments in alignment with clinical protocols and patient-centered care standards.

Your day-to-day involves a wide range of studies including abdominal, thyroid, liver with elastography, FibroTouch, vascular Doppler, small parts, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. You will ensure accurate image acquisition, optimize images, and document findings clearly into the EMR/PACS system.

You will work closely with physicians in Radiology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Internal Medicine to support diagnostic decision-making. This role thrives in a multidisciplinary, technology-driven healthcare setting where collaboration and clear escalation of urgent findings are key.

Opportunities include participating in training for AI-supported imaging tools, mentoring junior staff, and engaging in continuous professional development. You will also contribute to quality assurance initiatives and protocol development as the imaging services expand.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent
  • Valid DHA license as a Sonographer (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Minimum 2–4 years of clinical ultrasound experience
  • Strong experience in abdominal and thyroid ultrasound
  • Preferred: experience in liver elastography, FibroTouch, and vascular Doppler studies
  • Preferred: experience in specialty clinics such as endocrinology, metabolic health, or cardiology
  • Strong technical ultrasound skills, high attention to detail, and clinical accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and adapting to a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, thyroid, liver, FibroTouch, vascular Doppler, small parts, and musculoskeletal ultrasound
  • Ensure accurate image acquisition, optimization, patient positioning, and clear documentation of measurements and technical findings
  • Upload images and data into the EMR/PACS system in a timely manner
  • Work closely with physicians to support diagnostic decision-making and escalate urgent or abnormal findings according to clinic protocol
  • Explain procedures clearly and ensure patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality in line with UAE healthcare regulations
  • Maintain, calibrate, and safely operate ultrasound and FibroTouch equipment following infection control and safety standards
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, internal audits, and assist in protocol development as imaging services expand
  • Maintain valid certifications, engage in continuous professional development, and support onboarding/mentoring of junior staff
