About this role

As a CT Technologist at Mass General Brigham, you will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans for diagnostic purposes. You will ensure patient safety and comfort while adhering to established protocols and safety standards. Collaborating with radiologists and healthcare teams, you will provide accurate imaging results for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Your daily work involves performing CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols. You will position and immobilize patients to achieve optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure. Reviewing patient history and prior studies, you will verify information before each scan and monitor patients throughout procedures.

You will operate and calibrate CT equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety standards. The role requires following infection control and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff. As part of a high-performing team, you will work in a fast-paced hospital setting alongside radiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a CT technologist in a hospital or imaging center required.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting CT equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow imaging protocols.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety practices and infection control procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Registered Technologist (ARRT-R) or Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) certification preferred.
  • State Radiologic Technologist license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Ensure patient positioning and immobilization to achieve optimal image quality and reduce radiation exposure.
  • Review and verify patient information, including medical history and prior imaging studies, before performing scans.
  • Operate and calibrate CT equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate interpretation of CT images and follow up on additional imaging requests.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging results.
  • Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
