The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs patient assessments and uses ultrasound to produce high-quality diagnostic information.

Acquire and analyze data obtained using ultrasound with independent judgment and systematic problem-solving methods. Provide a summary of findings to the physician or health care provider to aid in patient diagnosis and management. Optimize patient care in the Diagnostic Ultrasound department on days, per diem, 8-hour shifts.

Requirements

Prefer two years of radiologic/imaging experience
Specific experience and training in Ultrasound and proficient knowledge of Ultrasound Equipment
ARDMS Registered or ARDMS candidate
Graduate of a CAAHEP-approved school of Ultrasonography, or has received education and clinical experience and demonstrated competence to obtain appropriate ARDMS certification within a year of hire preferred
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
