In the Heart & Vascular Center, the Sonographer supports the team by maintaining current knowledge in ultrasound and cardiology. Requirements

  • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI
  • Cardiology experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting
  • Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in ultrasound and cardiology
  • Knowledge of providing appropriate care for young adult, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, office equipment, and basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of an electronic health record required; Cerner desirable

  • Deliver all cardiology service modalities according to the Cardiovascular Medicine clinic
