About this role
Aptive Resources is seeking a dedicated and skilled Interventional Radiologist to provide as-needed coverage at Atlanta VAMC, 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033. Schedule includes clinic hours 7:30am-4:30pm EST Monday-Friday, after-hours on-call 4:30pm-8pm, and 24-hour weekend coverage Saturday-Sunday. Partial coverage is welcome as we recruit a pool of physicians for sporadic needs.
The physician will perform interventional radiology procedures including angiography, cryoablation, balloon angioplasty/stent placement, line insertion, chemoembolization, and IVC filters. Additional procedures encompass cholecystostomy, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, drain insertions, nephrostomy placement, embolization, and TIPS placement. Responsibilities also cover biopsy, biliary intervention, and endovenous laser ablation of varicose veins.
Provide patient consultation, treatment planning and management, treatment discharge, and follow-up evaluations. Participate in peer review conferences and administrative meetings as required. Maintain electronic medical records in a paperless system and engage in quality improvement activities.
Join committee memberships to contribute to facility governance and medical practice improvements. Abide by medical bylaws and perform other assigned duties. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team at the VA medical center.
Requirements
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) or equivalent from a VA-approved school
- Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US State, Territory, or DC
- Board Certified by the American College of Radiology (ACR) with secondary certification in Interventional Radiology
- Clear and active DEA registration
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and patient documentation
- Ability to participate in peer review, quality improvement, and committee activities
