About this role

This PRN position independently performs routine and complex CT examinations, applying established protocols while exercising sound clinical judgment to adapt techniques based on patient condition and diagnostic requirements. The role is based in the Adult CT Scan department and supports both routine and emergent imaging needs.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, correlating clinical history with physician-ordered exams, and safely administering contrast per protocol. The technologist accurately transfers images to PACS, completes technical documentation, and performs operator-level quality control checks and equipment disinfection.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary care team, the technologist communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and colleagues to support desired clinical outcomes and service standards. The role requires calm, focused multitasking in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Continuing education and professional development are actively supported to maintain competencies and advance quality of care. The technologist may also participate in research initiatives and assist with inventory tasks to ensure supply availability.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology, or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT, or completion of a JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program.
At least 1 year of CT experience required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
ARRT(RT)(CT) certification required upon hire.
Solid knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, CT imaging principles, and radiologic terminology.
Ability to prioritize and independently complete clinical and non-clinical work assignments with limited direction.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations, adjusting priorities and maintaining focus in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician-ordered exams to support appropriate imaging.
Safely administer contrast per protocol.
Recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the care team to support clinical outcomes and service standards.
Accurately transfer images and associated data to designated systems, complete technical documentation, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
Carry out operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.
Actively participate in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies.
