We are looking for an exceptional entry-level Sonographer 1 to join our team.

Medical Sonographers use sound waves to image the human body, working as both individual-care-providers and diagnostic-team members. Under the guidance of the Ultrasound Supervisor, Radiologists, and physicians, you will perform imaging tasks with knowledge of anatomy, positioning, biology, and pathology.

Our hospital features 48 private patient suites and nine private intensive care suites, promoting a hotel-like healing environment. You will collaborate with skilled professionals in a technologically advanced facility.

As a Sonographer 1, you will be in training to become registered by ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI. You will participate in mandatory staff meetings, in-services, and training programs to ensure continued understanding of policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or CHS Approved IEP Certificate required.
  • One of the following: successful completion of an Allied Health Education Program (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Radiologic Technologist, etc.) plus 12 months full-time clinical ultrasound/cardiac/vascular experience; or current enrollment in a CAAHEP-approved or CMA-approved ultrasound program; or a Bachelor's degree plus 12 months full-time clinical ultrasound/cardiac/vascular experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association required.
  • Must obtain ARDMS (RDMS) or equivalent certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, ultrasound physics, biology, pathology, and imaging principles.
  • Proficiency in positioning techniques and operation of ultrasound equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations following departmental policies and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of human anatomy, imaging principles, positioning techniques, and pathology to produce quality images.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process to ensure cooperation and comfort.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure proper calibration and cleanliness.
  • Document and record images for physician interpretation.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings, in-services, and training programs to stay current with policies.
  • Work under the guidance of the Ultrasound Supervisor, Radiologists, Cardiologists, and Physicians as part of a diagnostic team.
  • Abide by state and corporate regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
