Spire Methley are looking for an experienced MSK Sonographer to join the Bank Imaging Team. This will suit a candidate seeking more work/life balance. Spire Methley Park Hospital in South Leeds has completed a £7.6 million refurbishment, including a new theatre with cutting-edge technology for complex surgery across specialties.

You will deliver high-quality MSK ultrasound imaging, ensuring accurate scanning techniques and detailed reporting. Independently assess clinical referrals and justify ultrasound examinations in line with protocols. Undertake a broad range of MSK examinations including shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip, knee, ankle/foot, soft-tissue lumps, and tendon/ligament/muscle assessments.

Be an integral part of the Radiology team, working closely with patients, radiologists, physiotherapists, orthopaedic consultants, and colleagues across departments. Join a supportive team delivering excellent care in a patient-centred environment. Support anxious or complex patients with professionalism, empathy, and excellent communication.

Participate in the local Quality Assurance regime for ultrasound, contribute to audit, and maintain high imaging standards. Undertake system tasks for effective utilisation of appointments and resources. Opportunities for full induction, mandatory training updates, further training, and progression into permanent posts.

Requirements

  • PGCert/PGDip in Medical Ultrasound (or equivalent) with a strong focus on MSK ultrasound
  • Current registration with HCPC, NMC or SoR/CASE-recognised qualification allowing independent MSK ultrasound practice
  • Demonstrable experience of independently performing and reporting MSK ultrasound examinations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and tailor interactions to individual patient needs
  • Good IT skills and familiarity with modern ultrasound systems and PACS/RIS workflows
  • A caring, professional nature with the ability to deliver individualised, high-quality care
  • A positive and flexible attitude, with willingness to support a rota that may include evenings or weekends
  • Ideally 1+ years post-qualification MSK ultrasound experience in a clinical setting

  • Participate in the local Quality Assurance regime for ultrasound, contribute to audit, and maintain high imaging standards
  • Undertake relevant system tasks to ensure effective utilisation of ultrasound appointments and resources
  • Contribute to a caring, patient-centred environment, supporting anxious or complex patients with professionalism, empathy and excellent communication
  • Provide cover and support for other colleagues
