Our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) team is seeking a skilled Perinatal Ultrasonographer to join our collaborative and positive environment.
In this role, you will perform a full range of fetal ultrasound procedures, including first trimester exams, nuchal translucency measurement, second trimester detailed anatomic surveys, and fetal echocardiography. You will also conduct maternal and fetal Doppler studies and biophysical profiles, ensuring comprehensive imaging for accurate physician interpretation.
You will work closely with perinatologists, nurses, and genetic counselors in multidisciplinary case reviews, and assist with invasive outpatient procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS. The role requires rotating on-call for weekends, holidays, and weekdays after hours, as well as providing portable bedside ultrasounds as requested.

Requirements
- Proficiency in performing fetal ultrasound exams including first trimester, nuchal translucency, second trimester anatomic survey, third trimester, fetal echocardiography, and maternal/fetal Doppler.
- Ability to accurately document and record images using proper identification information and send results to physician for interpretation.
- Skill in educating and communicating effectively with patients and families in difficult and anxious settings.
- Willingness to assume rotating on-call responsibilities for weekends, holidays, and weekdays after hours.
- Ability to conduct multidisciplinary case reviews with nurses, genetic counselors, and perinatologists.
- Proficiency in radiology and hospital computer systems for patient information retrieval, tracking, and exam charging.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment effectively and report failures to the biomedical department.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs all ultrasound procedures according to department procedures and established protocols, including first trimester exam, nuchal translucency measurement, second trimester detailed anatomic survey, third trimester exam, full and limited fetal echocardiography, maternal and fetal Doppler, and biophysical profile.
- Accurately documents appropriate images for each study to provide the physician with comprehensive views for an accurate interpretive report.
- Educates, assists, and communicates effectively with patients and their families in difficult and anxious settings, providing appropriate and supportive patient care.
- Assumes responsibility for rotating on-call for weekends and holidays plus on-call for weekdays after regular working hours.
- Conducts multidisciplinary case review on each patient with nurses, genetic counselors, and perinatologists when needed.
- Demonstrates proficiency in radiology and hospital systems, including retrieval of patient information, tracking patients and images, and charging exams at the recommendations of perinatologists.
- Assists perinatologists with various invasive outpatient procedures (e.g., amniocentesis/CVS) and independently assists physicians with operating room guidance of surgical procedures.
- Uses critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision within scope of job in a fast-paced environment.
