As a CT Tech I, you will operate imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population, using appropriate technical and safety methods. You will manage resources like supplies and equipment efficiently while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • Medical Radiation Technologist license from Mississippi State Department of Health (required)
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.) credential from ARRT (required)
  • Registered Technologist in Computed Tomography (CT) from ARRT (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures
  • Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers
  • Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, PACS preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Operates CT imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images for a specified patient population
  • Performs quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and policies
  • Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment in a productive manner
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as needed for imaging procedures
  • Positions patients correctly to obtain optimal images while ensuring comfort and safety
  • Performs other job functions as assigned
