The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Program Director leverages their expertise to develop, maintain, and deliver education services to students by creating and maintaining core curriculum. This role ensures the delivery of core curriculum, prepares course plans and materials, and supervises staff while overseeing the entire DMS program.

Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring and managing student progress and attendance, providing student advising, and reporting grades. The director also ensures continued compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional accreditation agencies.

Working within a healthcare educational environment, the director collaborates with faculty and administrative teams to uphold high standards of instruction and program quality. This role requires a professional image and the ability to act as a role model for students and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years experience.
  • ARDMS, OB/ABD Certification or License; RVT is optional.
  • Ability to present a professional image and act as a role model.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and in educational theories and techniques.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver education services to students by creating and maintaining core curriculum.
  • Ensure delivery of core curriculum and prepare course plans and materials.
  • Supervise staff and provide oversight of the DMS Program.
  • Monitor and manage student progress and attendance.
  • Provide student advising and grade reporting.
  • Ensure continued compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional accreditation agencies.
