About this role

The CT Technologist performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists. This position is based at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and requires performing at least three specialized procedures such as biopsy, TAVR, coronary imaging, or ablations.

Daily work includes preparing and positioning patients while selecting accurate anatomic and technical parameters. The technologist prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations. Patient monitoring during procedures ensures safety and protocol compliance.

Radiation safety procedures and guidelines are followed at all times. The role demands constant alertness to maintain a safe working environment. This PRN position offers scheduling flexibility with available shift differentials for nights and weekends.

Requirements

Completion of a Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy program
ARRT-R Radiography credential or equivalent
ARRT-CT Computed Tomography credential within 12 months of hire
Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) from American Heart Association

Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice.
Observe patients during procedures, report abnormal activity, and monitor protocols for updates.
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Perform specialized procedures including biopsy, TAVR, coronary, watchman, ablations, or fiducial placement.
Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
