About this role

This position performs diagnostic CT procedures within the CT Department, utilizing specific equipment for that purpose. The technologist rotates through diagnostic radiology as assigned and is involved in the practice of radiation and general safety at all times.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing rooms, equipment, and materials for patient exams, including sterile technique. The technologist cleans and disinfects rooms and equipment following each patient exam, using current infection control policies.

This role is part of a dedicated radiology team at WVU Medicine, working in a hospital-based imaging environment. The technologist collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate imaging results.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
  • Radiography certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided (MD: Radiographer license through the Maryland Board of Physicians; OH: Radiographer license through the Ohio Board of Radiology; PA: No state license required; WV: Radiological Technologist OR Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic CT License through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
  • One year of experience as a computed tomography technologist (preferred).

  • Positions patients and explains procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation.
