In this role, you will perform a wide variety of specific and specialized duties and procedures on inpatients and outpatients in accordance with physicians' orders. You will use independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative while following departmental guidelines and protocols for all diagnostic radiology procedures.
You will work in close cooperation with a team of physicians, nurses, and other technical staff in a fast-paced environment. The radiology department offers a wide array of personalized services, and our radiologists are members of the medical staff of both BID Needham and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
This position requires a high level of technical and informatics knowledge and skill, with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands. You will assume responsibility for the quality of work in designated areas of procedures as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Radiology preferred.
- License: MA Rad Tech - Radiography required, or Radiology MA Temp License required.
- Certificate 1: American Registry of Rad Tech required.
- Certificate 2: Basic Life Support required.
- 0-1 years related work experience required.
- ARRT certification in Radiography required; if new graduate, must achieve ARRT in Radiography within 6 months.
- Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access).
Responsibilities
- Follow departmental guidelines and protocols in performance of all procedures in diagnostic radiology, in accordance with Infection Control policies.
- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging on inpatients, outpatients, ED patients, and in the surgical setting.
- Schedule and document exams, maintaining accurate and complete records relative to the examinations performed.
- Perform quality control on all equipment according to standard procedures.
- Greet all patients by appropriate title and provide education appropriate to the exam.
- Provide a complete medical record to the Radiologist.
- Use independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
