About this role

Competently performs routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity to produce quality images to physicians and other health care providers. These images support diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment and executing developed clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures.

This per diem role features a 10% pay differential in lieu of benefits, with an anticipated schedule predominantly on Fridays for 8-hour shifts between 8:30 am and 5 pm. Position may require coverage across multiple sites including Santa Clara, Mountain View, and Burlingame. Delivers accurate results in a timely manner through patient assessment and monitoring.

Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. Delivers optimal patient care in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Possesses intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including experience responding to traumas and emergencies. Proficient in sonographic examinations with understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. May perform specific procedures and orient other staff to the department.

Requirements

  • ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Upon Hire
  • RVT-Registered Vascular Technician Upon Hire
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire
  • One of the following: AB-Abdomen, BR-Breast, FE-Fetal Echocardiography, OB/GYN-Obstetrics & Gynecology, or PS-Pediatric Sonography certification Upon Hire
  • Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program OR possession of ARDMS
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Proficient in performing sonographic examinations with understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
