About this role
As an MRI Technologist at Atlantic Health System, you will create high-quality cross-sectional images using magnetic resonance imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes. This per diem position allows you to work at Hackettstown Medical Center in a dynamic healthcare environment.
You will position patients on the examining table, place the appropriate coil near the area of interest, and operate the MRI scanner following Radiologist protocols. You'll enter patient data, specify scan sequences, and monitor patients through a closed-circuit TV to ensure safety and comfort.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Radiography or related field
- MR Certified (ARRT or equivalent)
- BLS Certification
- Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to position patients and operate MRI coils effectively
- Proficiency in entering patient data and operating MRI computer systems
Responsibilities
- Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
- Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
- Enters data, such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of MRI equipment into computer.
- Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
- Observes patient through window of control room and on closed circuit TV screen to monitor patient safety and comfort.
- Views images of areas being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
- Keys in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
- Alerts staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
