About this role

As an MRI Technologist Float with Akumin, you are responsible for patient safety and delivering high-quality MR studies in both on-site and remote settings. This role requires effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, especially within a mobile imaging environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities include pre-screening patients for contraindications, using aseptic injection techniques, and operating multiple MR systems to produce diagnostic images. You may also oversee remote MR Technologist Assistants and ensure all safety protocols are followed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract
  • State license (if applicable) and current CPR Certification
  • Valid state driver’s license for local travel between locations
  • Ability to work at multiple sites and adapt to mobile environment
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
  • COVID-19 vaccination is or may be a condition of employment

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contraindications and using aseptic injection techniques
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images and operate multiple MR systems as required
  • Effectively communicate with customers, radiologists, and team members to address concerns and solve problems
  • Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, both on-site and remotely
  • Provide remote oversight for MR Technologist Assistants when needed
  • Work at several locations including mobile units, with local travel required
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support imaging operations
