About this role
This position performs MRI examinations within a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model, following established standards of professional practice and departmental policies across the Lower Mainland Medical Imaging health authorities. The role is framed within Vancouver Coastal Health's commitments to Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.
Day-to-day duties include receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data into the radiology information system, preparing examination trays and patients for specific procedures, and operating computerized imaging equipment. The technologist also processes and archives acquired data, monitors patients during procedures, and monitors equipment performance to ensure safe, high-quality imaging.
This work is carried out in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of health care staff, physicians, and external agencies, requiring effective communication and conflict resolution skills. The technologist works independently and in partnership with others, planning and establishing workload priorities in a dynamic clinical environment.

Requirements
- Certification with CAMRT (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course when required by site practice
- One year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level
- Demonstrated knowledge of current MRI theory and practices within a client/family centred model of care
- Demonstrated knowledge of PACS/radiology information systems, i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients, families, coworkers, physicians, and other health care staff
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety and provide competent, culturally safe care in diverse settings
