About this role
Overlook Medical Center is seeking a Registered Vascular Sonographer to perform high-quality Vascular exams using IAC-accredited protocols- LE, UE Venous, Carotid, and PVR. Ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout procedures. Collaborates with physicians and team members to support diagnostic accuracy and continuous quality improvement.
Performs comprehensive vascular exams while verifying patient identity and explaining procedures. Accurately documents and reports findings in a timely manner. Maintains equipment and exam rooms per infection control standards.
Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, and team members. Participates in lab quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Works within Atlantic Health System, a leading non-profit health care system with multiple facilities including Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ.
Attends required meetings, in-services, and training sessions. Demonstrates teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning. Part of a recognized organization with awards like 100 Best Companies to Work For® for 15 years.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited CVT school with focus on vascular sonography (CAAHEP accredited preferred)
- Credentialed with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification required
- Candidates with a minimum of one-year’s experience in the field are preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with patient focus required
- Experience in Epic and Change Health software preferred
