About this role
The Remote MRI Technologist provides MRI scanning and scanning assistance remotely to technologists at multiple designated UTSW sites. Working under minimal supervision, this role partners with physicians to perform routine to complex MRI imaging exams and protocols. This position ensures high-quality imaging while supporting on-site staff.
Day-to-day duties include executing exam protocols, managing accreditation, and overseeing operations to maintain imaging standards. The technologist ensures services are performed in a safe environment with assistance from on-site MRI technologists, following local, state, and federal regulations. They also collaborate to optimize procedures and patient care.
As part of the Imaging Services team, the remote technologist serves as a resource and trainer while seeking and providing feedback for improved processes. Requirements
- Graduate from an AMA approved school.
- Cardiac MRI experience.
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) upon hire.
- ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification upon hire.
- Preferred: 4 years of MRI experience.
- Preferred: Breast MRI experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote MRI scanning and scanning assistance to technologists at multiple designated UTSW sites.
- Perform routine to complex MRI imaging exams and protocols under minimal supervision with physicians.
- Manage exam protocols, accreditation, and operational aspects of MRI services.
- Ensure services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with UTSW guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with on-site MRI technologists to support safe and efficient imaging.
- Serve as a resource and trainer for imaging team members.
- Seek and provide feedback to improve processes and procedures.
