About this role

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Radiographer to join our team at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for X-raying patients using radiologic equipment that produces radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Radiologist.

Your primary focus will be generating high-quality images of patients to assist with diagnosis and treatment. You will perform and provide appropriate imaging and treatment processes in accordance with state, federal, and professional guidelines, while also preparing and maintaining records and files.

This position requires strong technical skills including a demonstrated knowledge of a variety of imaging equipment, from setup and utilization to troubleshooting and proper care and sanitization. You will also obtain patient history, explain routine procedures, and address patient queries or concerns to ensure a positive experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Radiography School.
  • 0-3 years of experience as a Radiographer or in a relevant area.
  • NJ State Radiologic Technologist (RT) license.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Experience working in a Health Care Facility, Hospital System, or relevant area (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Performs and provides appropriate imaging and treatment processes in accordance with state, federal, and professional guidelines.
  • Generates high-quality radiographs (x-rays) of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologist.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of a variety of imaging equipment including setup, utilization, troubleshooting, and proper care and sanitization of all equipment.
  • Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient queries or concerns.
  • Maintains all equipment for procedures and assesses the safety, physical, and physiological comfort of the patient.
  • Monitors need for procedure revisions and coordinates daily imaging procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
