The role involves performing 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, and cardiac Doppler echocardiography tests. These tests focus on the adult and geriatric patient population. Responsibilities include maintaining performance improvement documentation for cardiac and ultrasound per IAC standards.

Requirements

  • Appropriate credential in echocardiography: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS
  • Or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from CCI
  • Or Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS) from Sonography Canada
  • Or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from CCI
  • Additional credential: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS
  • Or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from CCI
  • Or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT(VS)) through ARRT
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, and cardiac Doppler echocardiography tests on adult and geriatric patients
  • Maintain performance improvement documentation in cardiac and ultrasound in accordance with IAC
  • Conduct vascular duplex ultrasound examinations including arterial and venous studies
  • Position patients and select appropriate transducers for optimal imaging
  • Evaluate echocardiograms and vascular images for diagnostic accuracy
  • Document procedural findings and measurements precisely
  • Assist in stress echocardiography protocols as needed
