Requirements

Appropriate credential in echocardiography: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS
Or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from CCI
Or Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS) from Sonography Canada
Or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from CCI
Additional credential: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS
Or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from CCI
Or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT(VS)) through ARRT
American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification

Responsibilities

Perform 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, and cardiac Doppler echocardiography tests on adult and geriatric patients
Maintain performance improvement documentation in cardiac and ultrasound in accordance with IAC
Conduct vascular duplex ultrasound examinations including arterial and venous studies
Position patients and select appropriate transducers for optimal imaging
Evaluate echocardiograms and vascular images for diagnostic accuracy
Document procedural findings and measurements precisely
Assist in stress echocardiography protocols as needed
